Business model

Business model consulting for mid-sized companies in Vienna

After a price collapse or the loss of a key account, the question is whether the business model holds. What counts is a company that stays operational while energy costs, tariffs, supply routes, interest rates and demand are all in motion.

What we work on

Where the money is made

One shared picture of the business model at owner and management level: which customer segments carry which contribution margin, what a customer pays for, where effort goes unrewarded. The basis is structured conversations with decision-makers at the customer.

Where the model can move

With the Business Model Navigator of the University of St. Gallen, a catalogue of patterns of successful business models across many industries. After a price collapse or the loss of a key account it helps to step outside the logic of your own industry.

Securing the model

Two engines

We separate the running business from what is built alongside it and steer both as a portfolio, with staged funding and agreed stop criteria. A profitable company builds the second engine while the first still carries.

Scenarios

Two or three robust pictures of the future for the risks that reach a mid-sized company: energy and raw material prices, tariffs, exchange rates, interrupted supply routes, the loss of a key account. Each comes with early indicators and a response agreed in advance.

Options

Staged commitment: a second source of supply, contracts with exit points, a second market that is qualified before the first comes under pressure (more on market entry and international growth). What can be tested is tested in days, before it is budgeted.

How a mandate starts

Diagnosis, two to four weeks

Fixed fee. Market and capability analysis on a sound data basis. It ends in a basis for decision: where the business model stands, which market and segment will carry, which levers to pull first and what the implementation costs.

Design, eight to ten weeks

Monthly retainer. The blueprint for implementation. We activate the network, bring first partners together and start the first operational pilot. What emerges here can be applied in the company without us.

Deliver, six to twelve months

Monthly retainer. Implementation in the market. Where it is required, we take on line responsibility, scale the processes, introduce steering and key figures and stay until the business carries.

After each stage the company can step out.

Questions before the first conversation

Who do you work with?

Established companies and family businesses, and funded startups and scale-ups that already generate revenue. We work across industries, in retail, hospitality and tourism, healthcare, real estate and industry.

Who leads the mandate?

The contracting party is AGA Group GmbH, and it leads the mandate. Where a mandate requires more, we work with a team of experts grown over years in tax, law, audit, marketing, technology and HR, assembled for each mandate and steered by us throughout.

In which languages?

German, English, Arabic, French and Spanish.

How does a mandate start?

With a 30-minute first conversation, free and without obligation. Then a diagnosis at a fixed fee, ending in a basis for decision. After each stage the company can step out.

When is the right time to work on the business model?

After a price collapse or the loss of a key account you need a clear picture. Better is the time before: a profitable company builds the second engine while the first still carries. Resilience is built there, not in the crisis year.
